Why Pledge Delta Upsilon? |

As you enter Fraternity rush, you may find yourself overwhelmed by several choices and
opportunities. Iona has many Fraternities and finding the right one for you can be very difficult and
confusing. The Greek community at Iona College, especially Delta Upsilon, offers many benefits
and opportunities unlike any other collegiate organization. Greek life will enhance all aspects of
your life academically and socially. As students, your primary goal is to succeed academically.
Delta Upsilon International Fraternity stresses academics and we are constantly trying to improve
the fraternities overall GPA. No fraternity can survive with poor grades and therefore we realize
the importance of helping each brother attain his academic potential. This is achieved through
study hours, organized tutoring within the Chapter, and the teaching of time management.
GRADES ALWAYS COME FIRST, whether you area pledge or full-fledged Brother. Upon graduation, employers are always looking for experience and leadership skills. Delta Upsilon is run
as a non-profit organization with an executive board, including President, Vice-President,
Treasurer, Secretary, etc., as well as committees to aid in the running of the fraternity. Positions of
leadership are available from day one. Recruiters know that fraternity experience prepares a man for success. Although fraternity alumni number less than 2% of the population, they make up 52%
of the U.S. Senate, 33% of the House of Representatives, and 75% of the top executives of the
Fortune 500 businesses. Alumni can often help a Brother get a job upon graduation from his
respective school. Delta Upsilon offers a unique life experience that will last throughout your entire life. Delta Upsilon surrounds a man with so many new people and the chance to make lifetime
friends. One does not experience the full benefits of fraternity social life until he joins one.

from which to promote FRIENDSHIP, develop CHARACTER, diversify CULTURE, and advance JUSTICE.
